FormSpring: Now With Direct Integration With Multiple Popular Web Apps

Using said integrations, you can now use any form you create in FormSpring with a laundry list of web apps that many readers of this blog will immediately recognize. FormSpring’s template list is fairly comprehensive, without being overwhelming, and it’s broken down into categories to make it that much easier to find what you’re looking for. Once you’ve chosen a type of form, you’re presented with the form editor

Install Zune 4.0, its free, great for playing music, videos (best you dont need to own a Zune for this)

Yes, few know that Zune software is free for download, can play music/videos from your system with super clarity all with or without you owning a Zune !!! Its just amazing experience for me, as to the clarity when I play the same song using Zune as against any other software (which includes windows media player, real player etc.,)  Clearly Zune is ahead of its times in terms of the clarity, mixing et all. While having a Zune can help you take this music with you wherever you go, its super cool even just to have this software installed on your system, just as a music player. As Microsoft employees, we don’t get Zune for free as many would imagine.  I bought a Zune for my wife long back and she has been very happy with it so far.  Its tough to convince people over things that they make up their mind with.  But with Zune, it was simpler for me.  Also, I am waiting for Zune HD to come out.  It is something I would look forward to buy as soon as it is available.

The 7 c’s of natural learning

In formal learning, we should be presenting meaningful and authentic tasks, and asking learners to solve them, ideally collaboratively.  By using tools like blogs for recording and sharing personal learning and information updates, wikis to collaborate, discussion forums to converse, and blogs and microblogs to track what others think are important, we provide ways to naturally learn together. Yesterday I talked about the seeding, feeding, and weeding necessary to develop a self-sustaining network. I Brought to you by: Work Literacy

All you would like to know about Lead Generation!

Lead Generation is essentially an effort to increase the number of people enquiring about your organization and/or the products & services . These can be prospects for customers, business alliances, prospective team members or employees or even people who are just interested in staying in touch and updated, depends on what you are capturing and the purpose of the lead generation tool

Seed, feed, & weed

In my presentation yesterday, I was talking about how to get informal learning going.  They may need discussion forums, blogs , wikis, and IM.  As many have noted, it’s about moving from a notion of being a builder, handcrafting (or mass-producing) solutions, to being a facilitator, nurturing the community to develop it’s own capabilities.  Jay Cross talks about the learnscape , while I term it the performance ecosystem. The evolution of a Mind Manager mind map – T&T parent’s guide

To help me plan out the direction and content for the Tramp and Tumble blog over the next couple of months I created a mind map to collect and sort the various topics that I want to discuss there. Here’s the final map, as posted on the Tramp and Tumble blog : And just like any project, there are things from the initial idea that are not present and things in One of the things that I love about Mind Manager is that it has such a nice looking, and useful, final product that hides all the effort that actually goes into creating the map. After all, the “customer” Brought to you by: Work Literacy

Discussion Forums for Knowledge Sharing at Capital City Bank

Because lending assistants are familiar with the forum, they’ve found this to be an effective pattern. How Did They Get There? One of the things I’ve found from doing many presentations on social/informal/eLearning 2.0 They have an internal message board used by the CEO of the Bank called “Bill’s Blog .” Subscribe to the Best of eLearning Learning Looking at Capital City Bank from the outside, I wouldn’t have expected to find a great example of social learning inside.

Withernsea Lighthouse Museum

Before visiting Withernsea Lighthouse Museum I had seen pictures of the inside of the lighthouse and was expecting it to be good but I didn’t realise the extent of the museum. Not only can you go up the lighthouse there are mini museums dedicated to the RNLI, Withensea Town and Kay Kendall (a local girl who went on to be a hollywood actress). Eating cake in the tearoom garden was a perfect end to the visit

Poll: Are Pilots a Waste of Time? – ReadWriteEnterprise#comment-156032

But that leaves an open question: do you still use pilots for your wikis, blogs , and other social software implementations, or are they a waste of time? In one sense its a little strange for Idinopulos to question the need for pilots, since Socialtexts switch to freemium was pitched to us with pilots as one important use case. We generally feel that the premise Idinopulos presents is correct; interaction among workers in a tiny subset of your organization isnt a fair test

Community of Practice for Facilitators : pilot, adoption and participation

Just to mix it up, group spaces aren’t just about the talent of the group, the task/agenda, and how they work with social tools, which a pilot helps with…they are also about others roaming from CoP to CoP, and as a visitor being able to ask a CoP a question or perhaps answer something…this is serendipity and emergence that will only present itself with scale (it is less likely to happen in a pilot). Design and Structure • People need to be a click or two away from what they need to do • If it’s too complex people won’t have the time to learn, they Brought to you by: Work Literacy
