Olympic Rings Island is an emblem of the whole world

Setting the stage for the Winter Olympic Games to be held in the city of Sochi in 2014, Russian architecture studio A.Asadov has designed an emblematic architecture comprising five circular islands, each featuring a tower at the center to symbolize the Olympic rings emblem. Among all, the dark blue tower stands for Europe, the black for Africa, the red for South and North America, the yellow for Asia and green for Australia, combining the culture and architectural forms of the entire world within a single structure. The Olympic Rings Island accommodating numerous complex and hotels not only infuses a new life in the mega sports event, but also gives an entirely new look to the city of Sochi.

Bionic concept car modifies for the sustainable future

The pace at which the number of vehicles is increasing on the city roads, causing pollution and massive traffic jams, the day isn’t far beyond when we will have to start walking down to the marketplace or workplace, like our ancestors used to do before the invention of autos. Addressing the issue, Romanian designer Vlad Icobet has come up with a futuristic vehicle that draws inspiration from the beautiful and organic shapes of nature and plants and blends it with advanced technology, making the cities a worthy living place. Intended for ultra-crowded cities of 2030 and beyond, the Bionic concept car runs on solar energy generated by the see-through polycarbonate roof with attached solar photovoltaic cells.

Rachel is a recent graduate from The Portfolio Center in Atlanta, Georgia: “The new Olde English packaging concept gives OE a novelty beer aesthetic, focusing on the effect of excessive beer intake and inevitable drunkenness that accompanies drinking forty ounces of high gravity beer. The typography causes a blurring effect, while the brown bag and duct tape embrace the persona of malt liquor.” “The Flour Mill packaging concept modernizes current flour packaging by making it easier to use while maintaining a recognizable and nostalgic aesthetic. Of late, we have seen numerous auto parts and electronic junk being recycled into pieces of art, and also seen it taking center stage in contemporary space. Adding to the list, here is another wall clock which is made of a recycled bicycle chain ring (possibly from an old Motobecane) and a new quarts drive movement, giving a new unique looks to your interior. ‘Nautilus’ lets you scrub off the dirt in style!

An evening bath or shower in itself is enough to soothe your body after a tiring day, but if it comes equipped with latest technology, it just makes your evening. A bunch of designers, including Sandra de Miguel, Xavier Arbones, Álvaro Bermudez and Marta Fernández, have come up with an innovative bathroom dubbed “Nautilus” that seems to change the traditional concept of the bathroom to encourage relaxation by taking advantage of the latest technology.

Celestial Chess Set presents geometry of sphere for battle royale

A finalist at the Billes International Design completion in New Orleans, the “Celestial Chess Set” by Jerod Hugghins is a unique chess set that unlike usual chess sets is based on the geometry of the sphere. The chessboard presents an ideal spherical base from where the pieces rise to take part in the royal battle, creating an intriguing visual effect. Eliminating the flat squares and circles to mark the 64 spaces of the chessboard, the radical chessboard features a matrix of indentations to stick the pieces on an uneven terrain, giving a true feel of the battlefield where the pieces seem to hover over a spherical landscape like the true soldiers.
