Mountainous Brook creates natural atmosphere within the bathroom

Inspired by nature, the Redo Sudio has come up with a sleek and smart bathroom suite that combines a basin, shower and toilet into a single unit to add extra space to the bathroom. Entitled the “Mountainous Brook,” the suite is finished in plastic, curved to resemble mountains and water streams. The shower, which is the main component in the entire unit, spreads like a spring with two streams of water, one forming the shelf and basin and the other the toilet bowl.

Aircruise hydrogen airship embarks a new era in luxury travel

Peeping into the future with vision and strategy, London-based design and innovation company Seymourpowell has designed a giant, elegant “clipper in the clouds” airship called “Aircruise” that seems to embark a new era in luxury travel. Harnessing solar power with a primary hydrogen fuel cell drive, the Aircruise can cruise at around 90mph, leaving no carbon footprints behind. Lying somewhere between a cruise ship and a floating hotel, the airship, which is based on the “slow is the new fast” principle, could move 100 people from London to New York in 37 hours or from Los Angeles to Shanghai in under four days in utmost luxury

Student Spotlight: Death By Chocolate

    “Death By Chocolate is a corporate design and packaging concept for a non-existing chocolate label. It is my final year project in communication design at Folkwang University in Essen. The dbc products are divided into a candybar range, wrapped in a soft, matt foil and a more sophisticated range of chocolates.  Both product ranges are finished with UV-Varnish and blind embossing. The aim was to create a unique packaging concept, that focuses on the myth of chocolate but transfers it into a modern, rock n roll kind of context.” Designed by  Denise Franke .

Galileo’s Telescope employs advanced optical technology

Inspired by the original Galileo Telescope made by Galileo Galilei in 1609, designer Odoardo Fioravanti has designed a new telescope as an attempt to bridge the gap between past & present and modernize the ancient instrument with advanced optical technology. Dubbed the “Galileo’s Telescope,” the new telescope is almost identical (in measurement, design and material) to the original one with trendy finish being the only exception. Made in wood, optical glass, metal and ABS, the Galileo’s Telescope has 1000 mm focal length, 60 mm objective diameter and 2” resolving power.
