James Cameron’s Avatar Passes $150 Million Milestone in IMAX Theatres

IMAX Corporation and Twentieth Century Fox today announced that James Cameron’s 3D animation wonder Avatar, which has received Golden Globe(R) awards for Best Picture and Best Director, has passed the $150 million mark at IMAX(R) theatres worldwide during the weekend from Friday, January 29, 2010 through Sunday, January 31, 2010. During its seventh weekend, the film grossed $6.02 million from 179 IMAX theatres domestically, representing approximately 21% of the film’s total domestic three-day weekend gross of $29.3 million on less than 2% of the screens

Apple patch plugs iPhone, iPod Touch holes

Apple issued a patch on Tuesday for the iPhone and iPod Touch that plugs five holes, including several that could allow an attacker to take control of the device remotely. Three of the vulnerabilities could allow someone to run code remotely, if an iPhone or iPod Touch user opened malicious audio or image files, or accessed a malicious FTP (File Transfer Protocol) server, Apple said.
